Where is the temperature measured in a data logger?

Where is the temperature measured in a data logger?
Does the sensor measure on the tip of the probe or on the whole length?

These details are often underestimated but it is important to know them!

Sensing point of the device is on the tip of the probe and there only temperature is measured.

In logger without tip/probe (like: SterilDisk) the sensing point of the logger is located in the center of the face without writing and only there is the temperature measured. For surface monitoring, make this face stick to the surface; for environmental monitoring, position the logger with this face upwards.

The sensors we place in our high temperature data loggers are:
• PT100
• NTC

A logger with a PT100 sensor inside is very accurate and stable. You can find it in our range MICRO W
