People are the heart of Tecnosoft: Beatrice

Today we introduce Beatrice, R&D Engineer, who shares with us her professional journey, from Politecnico di Milano to Tecnosoft, what she enjoys the most about her job and what it means to work at Tecnosoft.

How long have you been working at Tecnosoft and what do you do?

I have been working at Tecnosoft for a little over a year and I am part of the Research & Development team. My main responsibilities include sensor validation and characterization, as well as testing activities and technical reporting to support product development.

How has your journey evolved from the "Politecnico di Milano Career Day" to your current role?

I first discovered Tecnosoft during the "Politecnico di Milano, Career Day". After joining the company, I worked on a project comparing humidity sensors, which helped me become familiar with the company’s products and technologies. Over time, I contributed to different projects and gradually moved into my current R&D role.

What do you find most stimulating about your job?

I enjoy facing new challenges and contributing to innovative solutions. It is rewarding to see an idea develop into a real product.

Is there something you learned in R&D that you hadn't learned before?

Working in R&D taught me a more practical and structured approach to problem-solving. I also learned the importance of collaborating with colleagues from different backgrounds and gained experience in testing, data analysis, and technical reporting. The R&D department provides continuous opportunities to learn and grow professionally.

What advice would you give to students attending a Career Day today?

Be curious and proactive. Don’t just hand out your CV. Take the opportunity to ask questions, meet people, and learn about the company's culture. For a career in R&D, a willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges is essential. I believe the skills and work mindset developed at university matter more than a specific degree path, as many job-related skills are learned through experience.

What do you do outside of work to recharge?

I compete in track and field athletics. Sport helps me disconnect from work, recharge my energy, and come back with a fresh perspective and new ideas. Sport has taught me discipline, consistency, and goal-setting, skills that are valuable in my professional life as well.
